The first Astronomical Theme Park in Hanoi is located on an area of more than 12 hectares in the Duong Noi Township. It was developed by Nam Cuong Corporation in cooperating with experts from the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST). It is expected to bring a new lifestyle to the lives of the people in Hanoi.
The Astronomical Theme Park is surrounding the central Harmony Lake which has a water surface of more than 6 hectares and is the township’s green lung. It will feature models explaining the process of the formation of the universe, the solar system and the constellations clearly and interestingly. Through architectural models, telescopic systems and children’s play areas, basic astronomical knowledge such as the Big Bang, galaxies, stars, the solar system and planets is presented most vividly. This is one of the few large lake parks in the Southwest part of Hanoi which have been designed with an ideal green space for recreational activities, as well as a large space for residents, scientists, students and visitors to explore and experience the mysteries of the universe.
“This represents the consistent view of the leaders of Nam Cuong Corporation in building a multi-functional ecosystem that meets the needs for learning, relaxation, communication and community activities for all generations of residents. The park will be an ideal place for children and other people to visit, explore, study and research”, said Ms. Tran Thi Quynh Ngoc, Deputy Chairwoman of Nam Cuong Corporation.
According to Ms. Tran Thi Quynh Ngoc, the Astronomical Theme Park will help to answer the most basic and natural questions in your life, such as “Where do we come from?”Our bodies are made up of the materials of the universe, while the universe has many special stories to be discovered. When visiting this park, people will become very interested in learning about the relationships between humanity, our lives and the universe.
It can be said that the launching of the Astronomical Theme Park is a very good new for all of the people in Vietnam who love science and would love to explore outer space. Astronomy is one of the earliest sciences in human history and has been developing with the advancement of science and technology. Although astronomy in Vietnam is still new, astronomy is considered to be one of the most popular sciences of the masses in Japan. Professor Masatoshi Ohishi, Director of the Astronomical Data Center under the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ), said that astronomy is taught in all grades, from pre-school to high-school.
“This will be the place to grow our future scientists. We hope that this park will arouse the love of all people for science and astronomy, so that the future of Vietnamese astronomy can catch up with the world”, Ms. Tran Thi Quynh Ngoc expressed. Dr. Sao Hoa and the Director of FPT Technology Research Institute – Mr. Tran The Trung, agreed with this view and assessed that: “The construction of an astronomy park is very useful for society. This park will provide knowledge about nature and space to visitors, and stimulate young people’s learning and learning needs, especially when Vietnam has not yet developed this subject”.
From the perspective of a father, Mr. Trung said that he would take his two children to visit the Astronomical Theme Park in the Duong Noi Township, because “this is an opportunity for them to experience”.
As reflected in the township development philosophy, Nam Cuong Corporation always attributes great importance to investing in education and future generations in a sustainable way.
