Construction of the South-East Asia’s first outdoor Astronomy Theme Park, located in the center of the Duong Noi Township in the western section of Hanoi, Vietnam with an area of 12 hectares and the central Bach Hop Thuy Lake, which has a water surface of approximately 6 hectares, will be started in late 2017.
In July, Nam Cuong Corporation held a press conference to announce the South-East Asia’s first outdoor Astronomy Theme Park at Nam Cuong Building, Duong Noi Township, Ha Dong District, Hanoi. The event was attended by Ms. Tran Thi Quynh Ngoc – Vice Chairwoman of Nam Cuong Corporation; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Khoa Son – former Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and Member of the State-level Space Science and Technology Program Management Board; Prof. Dr. Bui Cong Que – President of the Vietnam Association of Geophysicists; Dr. Nguyen Xuan Anh, Director of the Institute of Geophysics under the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology; EGO Group – an Italian landscape design company; and more than 60 press agencies and television stations.
The park will be built by Nam Cuong Corporation with an astronomical theme for research and entertainment at a high-level and an area that is roughly equivalent to the Kazan Planetarium in Russia, which was named the first astronomy theme park in the world, with an area of 15 ha.
“With a people-centered philosophy, the outdoor Astronomy Theme Park located in the Duong Noi Township is one of a number of unique ideas that are being realized with the sustainable vision and consistent point of view of Nam Cuong Corporation. We hope that this will be a place for nurturing science, with the potential to stimulate the love, discovery and research of citizens, contributing to the development of the country’s science for many generations of children and the community to have the opportunity to access advanced knowledge, raising the level of Vietnamese astronomy to catch up with the world,” Ms. Tran Thi Quynh Ngoc, Nam Cuong Corporation’s Vice Chairwoman, emphasized.
The Astronomy Theme Park in the Duong Noi Township will be built in two stages. Phase 1 involves construction investment in 2017-2018, and phase 2 will be implemented from Quarter II of 2018. This special park will be built with the content concept advice of Dr. Nguyen Xuan Anh, Director of the Institute of Geophysics under the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, and from EGO Group, an Italian landscape design company.
This multi-purpose complex in the Duong Noi Township is located on the axis of Le Van Luong and To Huu Streets in the Western session of Hanoi, an arterial route where the infrastructure will develop extensively with the completion of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) stations, Overhead Railway system, Aeon Mall Shopping Mall, etc. With access via convenient transportation, this will definitely become an interesting meeting point for the capital’s residents and science lovers.
